Ondo State Ministry of health is the regulatory body of the state’s health care delivery services
The State Primary Health Care Board which is a parastatal of the
State Ministry of Health is seeking qualified candidate for the position
of an Executive Secretary who shall be the Chief Executive of the Board
as shown below:

Location: Ondo, Nigeria
Responsibilities
•The Executive Secretary shall carry out the day to day
administration of the affairs of the Board in accordance with the
provisions of the law setting up the Board.
•Making arrangements for the meeting of the Board
•Preparing the agenda and the minute of such meetings
•Implement the decisions of the Board
•Keeping and securing the records of the Board.
Qualifications and Skills
•The candidate must be a Medical Practitioner with Public Health background.
•Minimum of 15 years experience.
Board Objectives
•Ensure co-ordination of planning, budgetary provision and monitoring of all Primary Health Care Services in the State;
•Consider applications for, and issue certificate of Needs and
Standard to appropriate Primary Health Care Institution in its area of
jurisdiction;
•Perform such functions as may be assigned to it by the Governor or any other recognized authority;
•Hold quarterly meetings to review Primary Health Care activities in the eighteen Local Government Areas in the State;
•Hold biannual meetings with the Local Government Area Chairmen to
review their support for Primary Health Care in their various Local
Government Areas;
•Development Agency and Federal Ministry of Health Care Services Delivery;
•Advise the Commissioner for Health and Local Government Area
Health Authorities on any matter regarding Primary Healthcare Services
in the State;
•Recruit, promote, post, transfer, train and discipline staff on grade level 7 and above
•Pay salaries and allowances to Primary Health Care Staff;
•Disburse funds provided to it by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and other sources;
•Monitor activities of Local Government Health Authorities on
appointments, discipline and promotion of employees on GL. 01 to 06 in
order to ensure that the guidelines are strictly and uniformly adhered
to;
•Serve as the appellate body for all Dismissal/
Retirement/Petitions from aggrieved Primary Health Care employees on
GL.01 to 06; and
•Approve promotion for Primary Health Care employees on GL.01 to 06 as recommended by each Local Government Health Authorities.
•Domesticate and disseminate policies, guidelines and standard
operating procedures developed and produced by the National Primary
Health Care
•Ensure that annual reports are rendered by Primary Health Care facilities in the Local Government Area Authorities;
•Ensure annual auditing of accounts of Primary Health Care facilities in the Local Government Area Authorities
